Street Photography training by Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Essdras M Suarez, as he shares his extensive knowledge of photography with a focus on the art of Street Photography during this two-day classroom and practical on location workshop of three modules plus a course and portfolio review.
During this workshop you will:
During the first module, you’ll meet in a classroom to watch and discuss a street photography slideshow presentation. During the presentation, Essdras will examine and explain the different techniques, approaches and the general thinking behind the creation of these images. Duration 2 to 3 hours
In this part of the workshop, we will head out to the streets of Sharjah to test and practice the skills learned earlier that day. This exercise will include on-site mentoring and teaching. Essdras will be side-by-side with you as you document daily life in this city. When it matters the most and things are happening right in front of you. Duration 2 to 3 hours
In the third module, we’ll come back to the classroom to review images participants would’ve submitted before the workshop. The idea here is not only that of Essdras giving you feedback on your images but also for the participants to offer their input and reaction to these images. This review can be done anonymously, where the author of the picture remains unknown, or the participant can choose to disclose to the class these are their photos. Duration 2 -3 hours
Fourth Module: TBD… perhaps the possibility of shooting Friday prayer at a local mosque. Otherwise, we’ll head back to the classroom to review images shot the previous day. Duration 2 to 3 hours.
