Photography has long been associated with the idea of capturing reality or capturing a specific place, object, person, or moment that will preserve its own authenticity throughout time. As our planet suffers from the effects of climate change and global warming, photography can play a key role in preserving and documenting the world around us, as well as bringing attention—through visual communication—to targeted climate and social issues in order to educate and inspire real change.

Whether it’s capturing our most beautiful landscapes before they disappear, or highlighting the resilience of people whose lives depend on the nature around them, Some photographers have responded by taking on more impact-based projects and doing what they can to bring attention to the issues closest to their hearts. Through the power of photography and the connectivity and influence of social media, these photographers do their best to leverage their large online followings by educating them on these very important issues, and ultimately to take action for themselves.
