Exploring Cultures Through Sport

A Talk by National Geographic Photographer Ira Block

National Geographic photographer Ira Block has been documenting cultures around the world for over 30 years. From Bhutan to Mongolia to Myanmar to the arctic regions he and his camera have recorded the inhabitants’ lives and the changes – both positive and negative. Through his travels, Ira discovered that people in all nations have a common passion – their love of sports and sports clubs. In developing nations, this connection is even stronger.
