Day To Night
In the field with Stephen Wilkes
Using as many as 2,000 photographs taken from a single vantage point, Stephen Wilkes meticulously crafts dramatic image compositions featuring moments in time, over 30+ hours
Photographer Stephen Wilkes is internationally recognised for his amazing image compositions of scenes as they transition from day to night. Each of these stunning images is meticulously crafted from thousands of photographs taken from a fixed vantage point over the course of 15 to 36 hours.
Stephen spent much of 2017 on assignment documenting bird migration routes for National Geographic magazine. This exhibition currently on display at the National Geographic Museum takes you into the field and behind the scenes, emphasising the dedication it takes to seamlessly capture the passing of time from sunrise to sunset, and beyond.
Day To Night – In The Field With Stephen Wilkes exhibition until 29th April at the National Geographic Museum in Washington D.C.
The National Geographic Museum is great for all ages and features a wide range of changing exhibitions, from interactive experiences to stunning photography exhibitions featuring the work of National Geographic explorers, photographers, and scientists.
