After spending the past 15 years founding and working with some of the best and busiest wedding photography studios in the U.S. and photographing over 500 weddings around the globe, Wilson has turned back and reconnected with his true passion in photojournalism.

He studied photography at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. During his education at AIFL he was selected for an internship at The Miami Herald. The internship was an invaluable experience, which helped mould him and his talents into the person he is today.

Wilson continued to freelance for The Miami Herald after the end of his internship, where he photographed everything from celebrities, breaking news, and portraits to daily features. He was granted a scholarship from Polaroid, and upon graduation, he was awarded The Best Portfolio in his graduating class.

After graduating, Ron headed off to Budapest, Hungary for another internship with Atlantic News Service. His assignments there ranged from local Hungarian news to travelling with and covering Hillary Rodham-Clinton’s visit to Eastern Europe to photographing the end of the Bosnian war in Sarajevo.

Upon his return to the United States, Ron relocated to New York City where he has worked in many different fields of photography such as fashion, commercial, architecture, and portraiture. He has covered every possible subject from the World Trade Center Tragedy to the New York City Blackout of 2003 and has been featured in many publications such as The New York Times, Modern Bride, Asian Photography and Imaging Magazine, RangeFinder Magazine, The Miami Herald, Professional Photographer Magazine, and The Knot. Ron has won many awards at the Professional Photographer of America’s Imaging USA and WPPI conferences, and he recently won an award from National Geographic for his work in Cali, Colombia.

The experiences of living and working as a professional photographer in New York City and having grown up in a small town in North Florida have given him the advantage to be better and more well rounded in his life and career. Ron feels that the relationship he builds with the clients and the subjects he photographs is what makes his work exceptional.

He uses most of his free time to travel throughout the world from Europe, The Middle East, and India to South America shooting stock photography. He uses his cameras to document the lives of people in the places he travels to.
